A small piece of land has been obtained by the community of Yambiro. The Ali Shungu Foundation and travelers have financed the cost of materials needed for the construction of a Community Center. Members of Yambiro have provided the labor for construction of the building. The Community Center will serve as a local Health Center, an Adult Education Center, a town meeting place, a youth center, a storage area for community harvests and many other useful functions.
There exists little or no health care for these people.
We have decided to build a sturdy, well equipped and modern structure that will serve these communities for many, many years to come!
