The Students 2004-2005

Huaita Sisa Saransig

Huaita Sisa, of Yambiro, 14, is now a straight A student in the 7th grade.  Her father earns $145.00 a month, barely enough to feed their five children, much less educate them.  Huaita Sisa (it means carnation flower in Quechua) has a  strong desire to live and work in the community.

Bertha Farinango

Bertha Faringango, 14, lives in Agualongo with her mother and her five brothers and sisters and is entering 8th grade.  Without this scholarship, she would be unable to continue school this year.  She wishes to continue her studies after graduation from high school to study accounting.

Special Thanks to Jane and Fred Bieber, Barbara Hohol,
Jacquie Rodgers, Linda Koskinen and Donna Fruh for their contributions
