How to Help

Long Term Plans

Veronica Perugachi

Veronica, 13, of Yambiro, is one of seven children.  Her parents had to borrow money to pay for an eye operation that could not be delayed.  They would probably not have the money to pay for this first year of junior high school (7th grade).  Veronica is a bright young lady with aspirations to be an architect.

Deisy Gualsaqui

Deisy Gualsaqui, 14, of Agualongo, aspires to be an accountant.  Her mother is president of the community and an active participant in Indian affairs.  The family simply does not have the money to send the girl to school.  The father wishes to send Deisy to Quito to work as a domestica, earning about $80. a monthWith this scholarship, the father is willing to allow Deisy to continue with her studies.

Special Thanks to Jane and Fred Bieber,
Barbara Hohol, Jacquie Rodgers, Linda Koskinen and Donna Fruh for their contributions
