The ladies of Yambiro have formed a Cooperative of Embroiderers. They will offer their works not only to travelers, but also directly to buyers in the US. They will earn many times more than what they could earn subcontracting and, very soon, you will have the opportunity to support them directly. Link here.
The community of Larcacunga is seeking financing for more pools for the cultivation of trout. The trout will provide a cash crop, will improve the diet of the locals and it will be an attraction for tourists. $150.00 will finance a trout pool, including the feed. The community members provide the labor.
