The Ali Shungu Foundation asks you to join our 30 day volunteer program.   Do you have time and knowledge to work with local teachers and leaders in our community?

Computer Skills

  • Library --Volunteers will maintain organization in the Library, help students with the computers and read stories from the books.  A good working knowledge of Spanish and some teaching experience is required.


  • Sports -- Community sporting events are important in the rural communities.  Soccer is the most important and the students of Yambiro need instruction and training.


  • Art and Crafts -- The rural schools of Ecuador offer little in the way of art or crafts for fun.  The children of the Yambiro School respond especially well to projects that challenge their imaginations.


  • Health/Nutrition --  Can you help organize and maintain community vegetable gardens, health programs,


  • Teach English -- The Ali Shungu Foundation is looking for volunteers to help teach English to both children and/or adults.


  • Teach Computer Skills -- Our Library/Knowledge Center has 6 Computers.  Help Students learn basic skills and software

Please do not send shipments of school supplies or clothes.  The Ecuadorian Tax and Customs system makes it expensive and difficult to receive these kinds of donations.   

These items must be hand carried.
