How to Help

Long Term Plans

Five communities, a total of 3000 persons, depend on a water system that was installed by the government 18 years ago.   2 inch and 1 inch tubing was used instead of the 4 inch tubing that should have been used for the entire system.  As a result, most families have a simple faucet outside that provides a trickle of water for a few hours a day, the village of Yambiro with the least amount of water.  Eight years ago, the main water tank collapsed and this also affected the flow of water. The consequences are unsanitary conditions, illnesses such as intestinal parasites and skin fungus, and the inability to grow needed vegetables.

The water tank has been repaired but funds are needed to replace inadequate tubing, which is just one urgent project!

About $3000. will replace inadequate tubing and augment the water supply by 50% .

Labor to remove the old tubing and install the new tubing will be donated by the community.
