"IMPROVING THE HEALTH, EDUCATION AND WELL-BEING
OF FIVE ANDEAN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES"

The Ali Shungu
Foundation
OTAVALO, ECUADOR

Scholarship Program 2005-2006

This year we have obtained scholarships for 8 young ladies, 4 studying in private junior high school and 4 studying in public junior high schools.

Your contribution will go toward the education of a gifted, but
extremely poor, young indigenous girl from one of the five communities.

Tuition for a private education costs about $200.00 each year.  A year in Public Schools costs about $100.   Most parents can not spare the money, what with many other children to support and especially for a girl who is usually needed to work in the home.
